The ambasador of Japan in the Republic of Moldova made a courtesy visit at ULIM


During this morning, His Excellence Masanobu Yoshii, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Moldova, made a courtesy visit at ULIM. The Japanese diplomat had a meeting with the rector Andrei Galben, manifesting a major interest for the partnerships and the good practices of ULIM, known for its openness for academic projects of international importance. The main purpose of the visit was the establishment of cooperation relations between ULIM and Embassy of Japan by concluding a memorandum of understanding on educational and cultural level.

The academician Andrei Galben thanked the high guest for his kindness to come to ULIM and proposed to him the creation of Aula of Japan, which would offer to the students modern conditions for studying the language and the culture of this country. This suggestion results due to the increasing interest of our young people for the Asian states, ULIM initiated the study of the Japanese with native professors. ULIM is desirous to continue the good relations in education with the Japanese universities, the realization of students and professors exchange, the curricular development, the realization of common research projects, academic mobility etc.

His Excellency Masanobu Yoshii related about the tendency of Japanese educational system to stimulate the young people to study abroad. Thus, the ambassador considers timely that ULIM becomes a partner of certain Japanese foundations and organizations for promoting his language and culture in the Republic of Moldova and the intensification of bilateral relations of our states.
