A big academic event
“ULIM, the banner of the education and the research of the Republic of Moldova in the world”

Today, it took place the biggest academic event, dedicated to the 25th anniversary since ULIM was founded, with the participation of university personalities from the Republic of Moldova and abroad, governors of the two sides of Prout, ambassadors and representatives of the international bodies. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the extraordinary ceremony of awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa ULIM to ex-ambassador of USA in the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Asif Chaudhry, the vice-rector of Washigton State University, was annulled. During the day, the administration of ULIM received a series of congratulation letters from diplomatic missions partners, amongst them the Embassy of USA, the Embassy of Belgium, the Embassy of Finland Republic, the Embassy of Argentine Republic, the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Spain Kingdom, etc.

Rector Andrei Galben opened the manifestation by a speech regarding the history of ULIM realizations – from the difficult initial stage of institution appearance, in the conditions of deep economic crisis – till present day, when it is recognized as a brand in the university education from the Republic of Moldova.

Mr. Iurie Leanca, the vice-president of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, present at the event, made a congratulation speech on the occasion of 25th anniversary since ULIM was founded. “During a quarter of century, ULIM, which bases on quality, excellency, performance and competitiveness, became a strong and beautiful university and European. ULIM had a peculiar input and contributes substantially at training new generations and development of the society based on knowledge.

During the reference period, ULIM became the banner of the education and research of the Republic of Moldova in the world, reaching the top of the best universities on regional level”.
