H.E. William H. MOSER, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova, made an official visit to ULIM

His Excellency, William H. MOSER, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova, made a speech about the U.S. Elections for the ULIM’s students.

The event, held on October 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in Aula Magnifica, 4th floor, was organized by the US Embassy in Chisinau, in collaboration with the Center for International Cooperation, ULIM, in the context of Presidential Elections in U.S. that will take place in November 6.

At the beginning of his speech, H.E. William H. MOSER said that 20 years ago, the US President, George H. W. Bush, signed the Freedom Support Act, which has provided important assistance to Moldova for economic development. Thereafter, the Ambassador explained to ULIM’s students, how is structured the Electoral System in US, and the way it functions. At the same time, W. H. Moser mentioned that despite 200 years of experience, this system is not perfect. (more…)

The Free International University of Moldova celebrated 20 years of activity

The great event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of University’s Foundation took place on Monday, October 15, 2012, with an International Conference entitled: “Universitas Europaea: Towards a Knowledge Society through Globalization and Europeanization”, which began at 10 a.m. in Aula Magnifica ULIM.

This is not coincidental because over 20 years, ULIM has strengthened its scientific and didactic ground, establishing relations of cooperation with many scientific centres, academies and universities worldwide. About 363 scientists and professors participated at the conference. The event lasted three days, with workshops at all faculties.

The Conference was inaugurated by the greeting of Mr. Andrei GALBEN, Rector of ULIM, addressed to the participants, personalities of notoriety in education and world recognized scholars. The following personalities have spoken during the conference inauguration: Mr. Eric BRUNAT, PhD, Professor, University of Savoie (France); Mr. Valeriu Canţer, Chairman of CNAA; His Excellency Mr. Tong Mingato, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Moldova; Ms. Tatiana Potîng, Vice-Minister of Education, and Mr. Andrei Galben, Rector of ULIM.

After the plenary session followed the workshops which were attended by: Vito Avantaggiati, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Italy; Xavier Philippe, PhD, Professor, France; Austra Raulickyte, PhD, Associate Professor from Lithuania; Alain Vuillemin, PhD, Emeritus Professor, University Paris-Est (France).

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 4 p.m., ULIM’s students, joined by their professors and guests present at the event, organized an anniversary March. They walked from ULIM through the National square, laid flowers at the monument of Stephen the Great, after which they went to the National Palace, where the official ceremony dedicated to the two decades of activity of ULIM took place. The official part of the event was attended by the country’s leadership, scientists, professors, ULIM’s graduates from the country and from abroad. The official ceremony was followed by a concert with participation of several singers from Moldova and from abroad.

It is worth to mention that in 20 years, ULIM raised from the ranks as a prestigious institution, both within Moldova and in the international context.

The official visit of the Chinese Delegation from Gansu Province, China, to the Confucius Institute at the Free International University of Moldova

Between June 30 and July 2, 2012 – Confucius Institute at the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) was visited by an official delegation from Gansu Province, China.

The Chinese Delegation was formed by the following members: Mr. Ouyang Jian – Vice-president of the Friendship Association with Foreign Countries of Gansu Province; Mr. Liu Yusheng – General Secretary of the Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Gansu Province; Mr. Wang Jiayi – President of Northwest Normal University in China, which is the Chinese partner-institution with Confucius Institute at ULIM; as well as by other notorious personalities. The purpose of the visit was to deepen the collaboration and friendship between China and Moldova by establishing an effective cooperation between the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) and Northwest University Northwest in China, regards to the development of Confucius Institute within ULIM, which is a valuable center of education and culture in Moldova.

The honorable guests were welcomed by Academician Andrei Galben – the President of ULIM, Mr. Nicolae Ţâu – the Vice-president for International Cooperation at ULIM, and by
Mrs. Zhao Huangai – the Director of Confucius Institute at ULIM. During the official meetings held within ULIM, President of ULIM, Mr. Andrei Galben and the Vice-president of the Friendship Association with Foreign Countries of Gansu Province, Mr. Ouyang Jian, expressed their intention to develop relations of friendship and mutual understanding between China and Moldova; they also expressed the intention to streamline the cooperation regards to the development of Confucius Institute at ULIM. Finally, they agreed to make joint efforts for the creation of a unique and innovative educational center.

Colloque International “L’interculturalité à travers la linguistique, la littérature et la traduction”

Le 29 mars à l’Université Libre Internationale de Moldova, Salle Aula Magnifica, a eu lieu le colloque international “L’interculturalité à travers la linguistique, la littérature et la traduction”, qui est à sa 7-e édition.

Cette année le colloque a été organisé en partenariat avec l’Université Sorbonne Paris-IV, Paris, France, suite à un accord passé entre l’Institut de Recherche Philologiques et Interculturelles avec le Centre de Recherches en Littératures Comparées de la Sorbonne Paris-IV, dirigé par le professeur François Moureau. Le colloque a réuni cette fois des chercheurs francophones et hispanophones de la France, la Roumanie, l’Arménie, la Pologne, la Russie, l’Albanie, le Canada, la Serbie, la Cote d’Ivoire. L’organisation du colloque a été soutenue financièrement par ULIM,  l’Agence Univeritaire de la Francophonie et l’Ambassade de France en République de Moldova.

En séance plénière les participants au colloque ont été salués par le recteur de l’ULIM M.Andrei Galben, le responsable de l’Antenne AUF de Chisinau M.Roman Kwiatkowski, Mme Elena Prus, Directrice de l’ICPhI (ULIM).

International conference “Moldova-Ukraine: 20 years of diplomatic relations”

On Friday, 16th of March, in the Aula Magnifica, 4th floor, there was organized the international conference entitled: “Moldova – Ukraine: 20 years of diplomatic relations”.

During the conference there were discussed the following issues: the building-up and main stages of development of  bilateral  political  relations between Moldova and Ukraine, development of bilateral cooperation in cultural, humanitarian and economic field, as well as the main achievements obtained so far and the priority actions for the future years.
