The Ambassador Lee Yang-Goo:
“ULIM is a development center of the bilateral relations between South Korea and the Republic of Moldova”

The globalization and the model of economic development of the South Korea – was the subject of a public lesson, organized today for the students of ULIM by His Excellency Lee Yang-Goo, the ambassador of the mentioned state in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

On this occasion, the embassy inaugurated in Aula Magnifica an exposition of Korea immortalized in photos. In the morning, the diplomate had a meeting with the rector Andrei Galben, where they discussed on the future projects in the context of deepening the relations between ULIM and the Embassy of South Korea, the diplomatic representation of a country with the most efficient educational system from the world.

Lithuanian Ambassador Rimantas Latakas Wants a Close Interuniversity Cooperation

One of the special news at ULIM, in the context of academic relations evolution, is the recent meeting of the rector Andrei Galben with Mr. Rimantas Latakas, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to Republic of Moldova. The diplomat announced that he intends to support at the highest level ULIM in modernizing the Aula Lithuania.

This aula represents the space of spirituality, culture and traditions of the Lithuanian people, which was inaugurated on January 27th, 2010 with the participation of Mr. Andrius Kubilius, the ex-prime minister of Republic of Lithuania and Her Excellency, the ex-Ambassador of this country at Chisinau, Violeta Motulaite.

His Excellency wants that the cooperation relations between ULIM and universities of Lithuania be intensified, as our students may benefit of lessons and conferences presented by professors, scientists of his country, academic exchanges, projects of research and innovation between the faculties, etc. (more…)

Start of the Academic Year 2016 – 2017
ULIM – the Only Private Higher Education Institution that Create True Competition to the State Universities

The beginning of the university year 2016-2017 took place at ULIM, today, the 1st of September, at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” within an official ceremony.
At this event participated the administration of the university, the educators and the students. The academician Andrei Galben, ULIM’s rector, made an inaugural congratulating speech on the prospective importance in Republic of Moldova of the intellect’s cult, which will regain its prestige. Mr. Rector referred also to the big prospects of the institution for the young people in the national and world context.

“An important aspect in promoting the quality of the modern education at ULIM is the international relations through the progressive alignment to the educational systems form the world, following models of university centers from European Union, Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, etc. They represent our visit card, recognized abroad”, declare the rector Andrei Galben.

Mr. rector reviewed the successful cooperation of our university in the past year of studies. ULIM has good cooperation relations in managing projects and organizing joint events, with the diplomatic missions accredited in Republic of Moldova, international bodies and worldwide prestigious institutions. Thanks to the special efforts of the administration, ULIM acceded to the European Council of Languages (ELC), European Association of Law Faculties (ELFA) and Global Partnership of Universities for Environment and Sustainability (GUPES).

ReStart for a quality journalism ULIM part of a Romanian media project

ULIM has become an official partner in the Project ReStart for quality journalism. The partnership agreement was signed in the weekend, by Andrei Galben, ULIM’s Rector and the president of the MediaSind Romanian Journalists Syndicate, Cristi Godinac.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Senate of prestigious institution and the Rector of Danubius University of Galati, Andy Puşcă, one of the initiators of the ReStart project.

The project ReStart – for quality journalism was launched on May 3 by SRJ MediaSind on World Press Freedom Day, inspired by The Ethical Journalism Initiative concept. (, promoted by the International Federation of Journalists.

ULIM has signed a memorandum of collaboration with the only university in China, where the Romanian language is studied

Xixiao Dong, deputy dean of the School of European Languages and Cultures at the University of Foreign Studies in Beijing (Beijing Foreign Studies University, BFSU) is in an official visit at ULIM. He had a meeting with the leadership of ULIM, Andrei Galben, rector, Ana Gutu senior vice-rector and ULIM Confucius Institute directors , Wang Yifeng and Radu Plămădeală.

The event culminated with signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities on scientific cooperation, cultural exchange and academic mobility for students and teachers (in Moldova or in China).
Dubbed the “cradle of diplomats” BFSU is one of the most prestigious Chinese universities where they teach more than 70 languages, and ​​where, the only Romanian-language section throughout China was established in 1956.

ULIM to step up cooperation with the embassies of the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary

Today, a group of European diplomats accredited to Moldova, headed by His Excellency Matthias Szilagyi, Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova, paid a visit to ULIM, to launch a new stage in educational and scientific cooperation.

The group also included  Joanna Bojco, senior adviser to the Polish Embassy, ​​Peter Tomasek, diplomat for cooperation and development of the Embassy of Slovakia and Jan Husák, Counsellor at the Czech Embassy. They had a meeting with ULIM’s Rector Andrei Galben, and Ana Gutu, senior vice rector.

Lithuanian Ambassador paid a visit to ULIM
Establishing partnerships with Lithuanian universities

In the morning, in ULIM was held a meeting between its Rector Andrei Galben and Rimantas Latakas, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova. The primary purpose of the visit was to establish cooperation between Lithuanian universities with our institution.

For starters, the diplomat proposed initiating an exchange of best practices and partnerships between ULIM and University of Vilnius, one of the oldest and famous institutions of higher education in Central and Eastern Europe.

“Lithuanians have strong feelings towards Moldovan citizens, who were part of the same Soviet empire. We want these spiritual ties with historical roots do not disappear.

Young people from our countries should strengthen the good relations, first of all, through cooperation in education. First, we would be happy to exchange experiences between students and professors,” His Excellency Rimantas Latakas said. (more…)
